how do i clean very old brass?
I just inherited a house from an aunt of mine. She has a very nice old cherry wood dining set. The only problem is, she had a lot of dogs that she let urinate everywhere. The bottom feet of the table are brass, and they have turned a greenish color from years of not being cleaned. I have tried brasso, and hot soapy water but its not working very well. Any suggestions would help. Thanks!
Cleaning brass is quick and easy.
Mix lemon juice with salt and apply with a sponge. It might require more than one application if the corrosion is very thick.
Rinse with a clean damp sponge when done.
To keep the brass nice for a long time just mask the edges and spray with a clear glossy paint.
