Wireless Burgler Alarms: The Positives
Outside, not a hint of a cloud in a perfectly clear sky is the backdrop for the morning. The sun light is particularly white, and there is a light cool breeze. Though there was rough weather overnight, she relaxes in front of me with her laptop, her crystal blue eyes glancing back and forth from her keyboard to her screen and her eyelashes following her gaze. She is a contradiction of her own fate, and as of yet unreconciled difference between what is, and what might have been. Flashback to five months ago when Ellen Frisk first started looking into ways of monitoring her home. Because of a number of events, including a violent one in her neighborhood, she didn't feel as safe as she once had. The police were more active in the area, but the crime seemed persistent. She wanted to get a dog, but couldn't because of her apartment's regulations. Furthermore, any dog that is protective would prove to be difficult to train, and care for in an apartment complex. Though she didn't really know what she needed, she started looking into alarms. After some research, it came down to whether to get wireless burglar alarmsThe two have distinct advantages, and disadvantages. The wireless burglar alarms had the edge though with installation. She wasn't willing to pay someone to run wires through her walls for a place she was only renting. Running wires along the walls would make the apartment seem more cluttered. That sealed it for her, that wireless was the way to go. Now she just needed to decide on a brand. DSC Alarm System, Napco Security Systems, and Ademco Lynx were the final three she looked into. Each of them had some very useful functionality. DSC does offer some "home monitoring". Additionally they offer features such as a panic button, 32 zone coverage, and large keypad buttons. Ademco is the other choice. The Vista 15P kit has the option of their "AlarmNet" communicator, which communicates alarm monitoring information wirelessly over the internet, which ensures proper operation even when the telephone lines are cut. The "IQ Profiler" feature is what finally sold Ellen on the Napco alarm system though. It can greatly reduce false-positives. One of the reasons for not getting a dog is that she already owned a cat. An alarm system that won't go off when your beloved pet roams off to another part of the home was a huge advantage for her. A few days back, Ellen had her mouth taped with duct tape by someone who had broken into her home while she slept at night. She woke up and frantically grabbed at anything to defend herself with. He grabbed for her arms, and she kicked a few times, enough to break her loose. She ran out, pulling the tape off. She heard her cat screech as the intruder tripped over him. He overpowered her, and the rest was a blur. Fortunately none of it happened though. The reason is because before he ever got inside the apartment, I was watching over her and he new that. Watching over her furniture, her possessions, and even her cat, and now she sits in front of me on this beautiful morning quietly catching up on her email.
